I hired this company to seal my ducts in the hopes that my HVAC system would push more air to the opposite side of the house. My furnace sits on the north east side of the basement and I need more air to the two bedrooms on the south side second floor. I had taped and caulked all the ducts I could get to when I moved into the house. I was somewhat skeptical about how much more efficient sealing my ducts from the inside out would be.
First, they cleaned the ducts then set about sealing the ducts. It was a hot summer day already so once they were done it took a while to cool the house again. I waited for the next day to evaluate whether or not this was a sound investment in the efficiency of my HVAC system.
Amistee's technicians measured before and after to see what amount of air was increased by sealing the system. They increased the air flow by 30% through out my ducts. Numbers are one thing but how it feels is quite different. The process did the job. The two bedrooms upstairs are noticeably cooler now.
With todays global events and the way it effects the price of energy this process is one that can have a huge benefit to home owners wallets. I considered many other ways to accomplish my goal. A new more powerful furnace (mine is only 4 years old), ductless mini split system, window or portable A/C unit. Each one of those had more cons than pros in my situation. I believe I made the correct chose as this one checked all my boxes.
It will take a year to determine my cost saving but at this moment I am content and satisfied I purchased this duct sealing process.
